Helpful Sample Details

Do I need to order a sample first?

I always recommend ordering a sample before purchasing wallpaper for a full wall or room. It helps you feel more confident about the colour, scale, material, and overall feeling of the design in your own space.

Should I choose the same material as my final wallpaper?

Yes, whenever possible. Choosing the same material helps you see and feel the finish before placing a larger order.

What if my walls are textured or freshly painted?

Wallpaper works best on clean, dry, smooth or lightly textured, properly prepared walls. If your walls are textured, uneven, repaired, or damaged, testing a sample first is strongly recommended.

For freshly painted walls, allow the paint to fully cure according to the paint manufacturer’s instructions before applying a sample or wallpaper.

Do larger designs need a bigger sample?

For larger-scale designs or patterns with more spacing between motifs, a standard sample may only show a small section of the artwork.

We recommend ordering a 2-foot panel sample so you can see more of the design and better evaluate the artwork and scale before placing a larger order.

Can colours look different in my home?

Yes. Colours can shift depending on natural light, artificial light, wall colour, flooring, and surrounding decor. That’s why it helps to view your sample in the actual room where the wallpaper will be used.
